Everton vs. Chelsea

Everton vs Chelsea
  • Everton have won five of their last six Premier League home games against Chelsea (L1), as many as in their previous 17 against them at Goodison Park (D4 L8).
  • Chelsea won 6-0 in their last Premier League game against Everton but haven’t beaten the Toffees in consecutive meetings since a run of three between November 2016 and August 2017.
  • Everton have had four 0-0 draws in the Premier League so far this season, more than any other side. It’s their most in a single campaign since 2015-16 (also 4), while they last had more in 2008-09 (5).
  • From the start of May, Chelsea have scored more goals (51), won more games (15) and earned more points (49) in the Premier League than any other side.
  • Only Liverpool (7) have had more clean sheets in the Premier League this season than Everton (6). However, the Toffees have also failed to score in the most different games this term (8), while no team has scored in more games than Chelsea (15).
  • Chelsea have won their last five Premier League games, last winning more consecutively in November 2019 under Frank Lampard (6).
  • Everton lost their first two Premier League home games this season, conceding three goals in each match. Since then, they’re unbeaten in five at Goodison Park (W2 D3), keeping three clean sheets and conceding just twice.
  • Chelsea have won more away games (6), more away points (19) and scored more away goals (23) than any other side in the Premier League this season. Indeed, their 23 goals scored is the third highest tally after eight away games in a single Premier League campaign, behind only Liverpool in 2021-22 (26) and Manchester City in 2011-12 (25).
  • Whatever the results of this weekend’s matches, Chelsea are guaranteed to be in the top two of the Premier League at Christmas for the first time since 2016-17 (1st). The Blues have gone on to win the title on all five occasions they’ve been top at Christmas (2004-05, 2005-06, 2009-10, 2014-15 and 2016-17), but they’ve never won it when they’ve been second on December 25th (1998-99, 2002-03, 2006-07, 2008-09).
  • With 57 shots and 44 chances created, Chelsea’s Cole Palmer is the only player to have been involved in over 100 attempts in the Premier League this season. This game could be his 50th in the competition for the Blues – with 33 goals and 17 assists, he’s already just the fourth player to have 50+ goal involvements in his first 50 Premier League games for a club (Erling Haaland 62 with Man City, Andrew Cole 57 with Newcastle and Mohamed Salah 52 with Liverpool).
